Needlework

She felt her troubles
Weighting her down
Her shoulders sagging
From the stress
He saw it in her face
The heaviness of despair.
He saw the light fade
From her eyes.
He knew the solution,
The cure for the emptiness,
As she walked toward him,
He held his arms out to her.
He enveloped her in his light
His soft, comforting warmth.
She laid her heavy head
Onto his strong chest
And let the steady beating
Of his kind heart
Sing her a sweet lullaby.
And as his heart sang to her,
He rocked her back and forth
Sewing together her torn pieces
And made her whole once more.
